Houston RCMP investigating suspicious incident

The Houston RCMP are investigating a suspicious incident that occurred on Mountainview Drive ten days ago.

Police say a young man was walking along the sidewalk near the top of the staircase to the Jamie Baxter Park on November 11th at around 5:17, when an unknown man jumped out behind some bushes and ran towards him.

The young man ran across the street and up the short trail leading to Pearson Road, and was followed by the suspect for a short time.

The young man when directly home and reported the incident to his parents, who then notified the RCMP.

The young man was not harmed.

The suspect has been described as approximately 5′ 10, wearing a dark hoodie, dark sweatpants, and white Nike running shoes with black soles.

Police immediately conducted patrols but did not find anyone matching that description.

“We are hoping the public can provide information to further our investigation,” said Cst. Connor Hall of the Houston RCMP.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the detachment.
