BCHL: 

The (12-6-1-1) Prince George Spruce Kings close out their November schedule when they host the (12-5-2) West Kelowna Warriors tonight and Saturday at 7:00.

The Spruce Kings are third in the nine-team Interior Division although they are tied in points with the second-place Warriors.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars host the Kamloops Blazers Saturday night at 6:00 in a matchup of the top two teams in the B.C. Division of the WHL.

The (13-9) Cougars lead the (10-4-3-1) Blazers by two points, but the Blazers have four games in hand.

Kamloops will host the Moose Jaw Warriors tonight before coming to PG.

The Cougars are riding a four-game winning streak after Wednesday’s 5-2 victory over Moose Jaw.

NHL:  (0 Thursday games)

There are 14 Friday games in the NHL with Vancouver and Edmonton the only Canadian teams idle.

The (7-10-3) Canucks visit Vegas Saturday night at 7:00 and San Jose Sunday night at 5:00.

The Leaf Nation and the entire hockey world are mourning the passing of Borje Salming.

Salming was the Leafs’ all-time assist leader with 620 and fourth in career points for the franchise, behind only Mats Sundin, Darryl Sittler, and Dave Keon.

He was the first Swedish-born player to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Salming was diagnosed with ALS earlier this year and died yesterday (Thursday) at age 71.

BC Elite Hockey League: (BCEHL)

(Under-18)

The (5-6-1) U18 Cariboo Cougars visit the (9-2-1) Greater Vancouver Canadians Saturday afternoon at 2:30 and Sunday morning at 8:30 in Richmond.

Cariboo is 7th and Greater Vancouver 2nd in the 9-team league.

(U18 female)

The (6-11-2) Northern Capitals host the (15-0) Fraser Valley Rush tonight at 6:45 at Kin 1, Saturday night at 4:00 at Kin 2, and Sunday morning at 8:15 at Kin 2.

These will be the Capitals’ final three league games until January.
