WHL:

Kamloops Blazers  4  Prince George Cougars  1  (Saturday)

The Cougars’ win streak ended at four games before 2,321 fans at CN Centre.

Caedan Bankier scored the winner at 4:11 of the second period and added a spectacular shorthanded goal early in the third.

Riley Heidt had the only Prince George goal and it was unassisted early in the second to briefly tie the game at 1.

The (13-10) Cougars and the (11-5-3-1) Blazers are tied for first in the B.C. Division, although Kamloops has three games in hand.

Prince George will host the (11-11-1-1) Regina Pats and scoring leader Connor Bedard Friday night.

There are less than 300 tickets left for Friday’s game at CN Centre.

The Pats play in Kelowna Tuesday and Kamloops Wednesday before heading to PG.

The Warriors scored the only goal of the third period before 712 fans at Kopar Memorial Arena.

Austin Fraser scored twice, with the winner coming early in the third period, before 1,469 fans in PG.
