Spruce Kings split weekend doubleheader with Saturday loss to Warriors

The Prince George Spruce Kings are leaving the weekend with a split against the West Kelowna Warriors after last night’s 4-3 loss.

Jake Schneider played strong in front of the 712 in the home crowd, scoring a pair of goals, one of which came after taking to a stick to the face.

Austin Fraser also scored for the Sprue Kings in the loss.

Jordan Fairlie stopped 22 of 26 shots he faced in the loss.

Alexi Van Houtte-Cachero, Riley Sharun, Aiden Reeves, and Luke Devlin each scored for the Warriors.

After this weekend’s doubleheader at the Kopar Memorial Arena, the Spruce Kings (13-7-1-1) and Warriors (13-6-2-0) are tied for points at 28 in the BCHL’s Interior Division.

They both trail the still unbeaten Penticton Vees (23-0-0-0) who have 46 points.

The Spruce Kings will host the Cranbrook Bucks (12-8-1-0) for a weekend doubleheader at the Kopar Memorial Arena starting on Friday.
