WHL:

Prince George Cougars  6  Vancouver Giants  3

The Cougars trailed 3-1 before scoring late in the second period and adding four unanswered goals in the 3rd.

Prince George has won six straight at the Langley Events Centre and its road record improved to 9-3 compared to 5-8 at home.

Caden Brown scored twice (the last into an empty net) and added an assist for the 14-11 Cougars who continue a 6-game road trip Tuesday in Everett against the 14-10-1 Silvertips.

Everett is 4th in the Western Conference, just a point ahead of Prince George.

The Cougars lost 5-1 on Friday to Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats before 6,027 fans, unofficially the largest crowd to ever watch the Cougars play a home game.

Bedard scored twice against the Cougars to extend his point streak to 26 games.

On Sunday, Bedard racked up a goal and four assists in Regina’s 8-2 victory against the Oil Kings in Edmonton to extend his points streak to 27 consecutive games.

Justin Verlander is leaving the World Series champion Houston Astros.

Verlander has come to terms with the New York Mets on a two-year, $86.66-million deal.

He won the American League Cy Young Award this year with the Astros posting an 18-4 record with a 1.75 ERA.

NBA:

The (12-11) Toronto Raptors host the (19-5) Boston Celtics tonight (Monday 4:30 PT).
