RCMP filling cruisers with food donations all day today

If you are picking up groceries at a Save on Foods today (Saturday), you may notice some police presence in front of the store.

They (hopefully) are not making an arrest, but they are trying to fill the back seat of their cruiser.

“Today we are raising money and food donations for the Salvation Army,” Corporal Jenn Cooper told My PG Now outside of a Save On.

They are at College Heights, Spruceland, and the Hart locations today.

She said this is the first Cram a Cruiser that the RCMP have run in a while because of the pandemic, and they do not have a set goal for how much they want to raise.

“Historically, we have done really, really well,” she said.

“The Salvation Army helps out our victim services unit a lot… they are always really generous and quick to help out when we need it, this is our opportunity to close that circle and give back.”

They will be parked outside the Save On stores until 5:00 this afternoon, anyone who wants to donate but can’t make it in time can drop off non perishable food at the RCMP detachment any time.
