Two PG Cougars headed to CHL Top Prospects Game

Koehn Ziemmer and Riley Heidt will be showcasing their talents in front of a national audience in the New Year.

Both PG Cougar forwards are among 40 players invited for the CHL Top Prospects Game set for January 25th at the Langley Events Centre.

Heidt and Ziemmer are two of 19 WHL players selected for the game.

Ziemmer has 42 points in 29 games this season for the Cats including 19 goals. Heidt on the other hand has been more of a playmaker for the Cougars as 29 of his 42 points this season are assists.

In addition, PG product Nico Myatovic of the Seattle Thunderbirds will also be suiting up for the game.

Myatovic has 10 goals and seven assists with the T-Birds so far this season.

He is the first PG-born to be named since Brett Connolly in 2010 to be named.

Lastly, McBride’s Tanner Molendyk of the Saskatoon Blades is among the 12 defencemen suiting up for the showcase.

While manning the blueline for the Blades, Molendyk has tallied one goal and thirteen assists.
