World Junior Hockey:
The world junior hockey championship opens on Boxing Day in Halifax and Moncton.
Canada has its first game Monday (3:30 PM PT) against Czechia in Halifax.

The NHL ends its Christmas break on Tuesday with 12 games, including San Jose at Vancouver (7:00).

WHL:
The Prince George Cougars have a home and home with the BC Division-leading Blazers to close out 2022.
The two teams meet Friday in Kamloops and on Saturday at CN Centre.
The (14-15-3) Cougars have lost seven straight but are still 5th in the Western Conference as of the Christmas break, two points behind Everett, one point ahead of Vancouver, two points in front of Tri-City, and four ahead of Kelowna.

The (15-11-1-1) Prince George Spruce Kings visit the (12-15-0-2) Wenatchee Wild on Friday and Saturday.
Prince George is 4th and Wenatchee 8th in the 9-team BCHL Interior Division.
