World Junior Hockey:
The world junior hockey championship opens today (Boxing Day) in Halifax and Moncton.
Canada has its first game this afternoon (3:30 PT) against Czechia in Halifax.

The NHL ends its Christmas break with a dozen games on Tuesday, including San Jose at Vancouver (7:00).
The (15-15-3) Canucks are six points out of a playoff spot.

WHL:
The Prince George Cougars have a home and home this week with the BC Division-leading Blazers.
The two teams battle Friday in Kamloops and on Saturday at CN Centre.
The (14-15-3) Cougars have lost seven straight but are 5th in the Western Conference, two points behind Everett, one point ahead of Vancouver, two points in front of Tri-City, and four ahead of Kelowna.

The (15-11-1-1) Prince George Spruce Kings visit the (12-15-0-2) Wenatchee Wild on Friday and Saturday.
Prince George is 4th and Wenatchee 8th in the 9-team BCHL Interior Division.
