Cougars captain signs entry level deal with Philadelphia Flyers

Ethan Samson is officially one step closer to the NHL.

Last night, the Philadelphia Flyers announced they had signed the defenseman to a 3 year entry level contract.

This season, the Cougars’ 19 year old captain has 11 goals and 16 assists in 28 games – including two goals and an assist in last night’s 10-6 win over the Kamloops Blazers.

“He’s just worked, worked, and worked and got better every day. In his draft year, he was never on central scouting, he was under the radar, and he kept improving,” said GM & Head Coach Mark Lamb.

“He has earned everything he’s got, and it is so great to see him sign with Philadelphia.”

Samson was Philly’s sixth round pick in the 2021 draft.
