PG RCMP received 110 calls for service on New Years Eve

New Year’s Eve was calmer in the Northern Capital than in previous years from the Prince George RCMP’s perspective.

According to Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, the Prince George RCMP received 110 calls for service on December 31st.

“Overall, calls to police on New Year’s Eve were in-line with regular types of service calls,” Cooper said.

“Police were kept busy attending to numerous disturbances and incidents caused by intoxicated individuals.”

Cooper added the peak hours for calls to police occurred late in the evening on December 31st, and in the early morning hours of January 1st.

Additionally, the Prince George RCMP attended just over 46,000 calls for service in 2022, down from 2021’s year-end total of 51,000.
