Police arrest one person in firearms complaint at PG motel

One person was arrested after the Prince George RCMP responded to a weapons complaint on Saturday afternoon.

At around 3:30, police were called to the 2300-block of Northwood Pulpmill Road.

Mounties were advised a man residing at the motel threatened two people with what appeared to be a firearm.

The suspect was identified as 58-year-old Kevin Leroy Shore of Prince George, who is known to police.

He was arrested without incident, and taken to the Prince George RCMP detachment where he was held for court.

“Investigators located and seized a firearm during their investigation,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“Mr. Shore was remanded into custody, where he will stay until his next court appearance.”

According to police, the BC Prosecution Service has approved the following charges in this matter:

  • Pointing a firearm without lawful excuse
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Dealing with firearms contrary to regulations
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

No injuries were reported during the incident, and the file remains under investigation.
