The Prince George Cougars are 1-0 on a 7-game road trip that continues Friday in Lethbridge and Saturday in Swift Current.
The Cougars are coming off Tuesday’s 3-0 victory in Kelowna as Ty Young made 30 saves for his first career WHL shutout.

19-year-old sniper Zac Funk will make his P.G. debut this weekend.
He was acquired on Tuesday from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for Carter MacAdams, a pair of second-round draft picks, and a fourth-round pick.
Funk has 32 points (13 goals) and 45 penalty minutes in 33 games this season with the Hitmen.

The (17-12-2-1) Prince George Spruce Kings visit the (18-10-4) West Kelowna Warriors on Friday and the (16-16-1-2) Wenatchee Wild on Saturday.
In the 9-team Interior Division, West Kelowna is 3rd, Prince George 4th and Wenatchee 6th.
The Spruce Kings were active Tuesday just prior to the BCHL trade deadline.

The (7-12-1) Under-18 Cariboo Cougars host the (15-7-2) Vancouver North West Hawks Saturday night at 6:30 and Sunday morning at 11:00 at Kin 1.
The U-18 Cougars are 7th and the Hawks 3rd in the 9-team division.

The (8-13-2) Under-18 female Northern Capitals have three home games this weekend against the (21-0) Fraser Valley Rush.
They meet Friday at 3:45 PM at Kin 2, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at CN Centre, and Sunday afternoon at 2:30 also at CN Centre.
The Capitals are 4th in the 5-team division.

The NFL Wild Card weekend starts with a pair of games on Saturday: Seattle at San Francisco(1:30 PT) followed by the LA Chargers at Jacksonville (5:15).
The three Sunday games have Miami at Buffalo (10 AM), New York Giants at Minnesota (1:30), and Baltimore at Cincinnati (5:15).
The Monday Night game features Dallas at Tampa (5:15).
The winners advance to the conference semifinals.

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the Victoria Vikes Friday and Saturday in Canada West men’s and women’s basketball.
