Man sustains injuries following Ottawa Street kidnapping, assault

Two men in their 20s’ have been arrested by the Prince George RCMP following a kidnapping and assault downtown.

Just after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday (January 8th), police were contacted by a man who was kidnapped and assaulted earlier that morning.

The victim was suffering from multiple injuries.

The RCMP attended a temporary structure on the 400 block of Ottawa Street where the victim stated the assault took place and located two men inside who matched the description of the suspects.

“Investigators arrested 20-year-old Noah Damien Basil-Tom and 25-year-old Daryn James Middleton in relation to the incident. The men attended court and will remain in custody until their next court appearance. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges:

Noah Damien Basil-Tom

  • Aggravated assault
  • Kidnapping
  • Forcible confinement
  • Fail to comply with probation

Daryn James Middleton

  • Aggravated assault
  • Kidnapping
  • Forcible confinement
  • Fail to comply with probation

Both suspects are known to police. The file remains under investigation.
