Harris sits for the last time in HOC

Its the end of an era for one area MP.

Prince George – Cariboo’s Dick Harris had his last day in the House of Commons Thursday after 22 years of service.

Harris says helping people in his constituency has been the biggest joy of the job.

“That’s probably the thing that has given me the biggest degree of satisfaction,” says Harris, “because in so many cases, you are able to help someone in a way, that can be a life changer for them, and you can see the results immediately.”

Harris says he’s looking forward to visiting family and golfing in his retirement.

He also plans to help incoming Prince George-Cariboo Conservative Candidate Todd Doherty with this fall’s federal election.
