Coldsnap crew ready and excited to go one week out

Prince George’s annual winter music festival is just a week away, and organizers say the event is all coming together.

Katherine Benny, the Folkfest Society’s Communications Manager and Assistant Executive Director told My PG Now that the Coldsnap team “is like a well-oiled machine;” the team they have now is the same one that navigated last year’s pandemic-friendly festival.

“This is a little bit easier than last year,” she said. “Knock on wood.”

Last week they also announced this year will feature the return of workshops and IceJams.

IceJams are free to attend, smaller and more personal shows with some of the Coldsnap artists, and the workshops will cover everything from songwriting to technical, behind-the-scenes skills.

Benny said ticket sales are “looking on track” one week out, but warns that if Prince George lives up to its ‘last minute town’ reputation, shows could end up sold out before some fans get tickets to what they want to see.

“Before you know it, we are going to get right into the middle of it and I don’t want anyone to miss out.”

Benny also mentioned the promotional artwork of the fox, designed by local artist Allanah Kenoras-Schwandt, will be featured on shirts and other merchandise available at Coldsnap’s various venues.
