Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC getting ready for Pink Shirt Day

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC (BIGSNBC) is gearing up for their 11th annual Pink Shirt Day fundraiser.

“Once again we are spreading the message of kindness and spreading awareness about bullying in our schools and our community, and talking about mentoring and how mentoring is a proven solution to help kids struggling with the effects of bullying,” said Jane Gauthier, Communication Manager for BIGSNBC.

As usual, BIGSNBC will be selling their pink shirts, as well as pink bracelets through their website.

Gauthier added the “Burgers Over Bullies” campaign will be making a return as well.

“We’re just hoping to grow on the success of that,” she said.

“We are still in the process of chatting with restaurants sow we don’t have a confirmed list as of yet, but we do have a lot of great burger options coming which will be announced soon.”

Gauthier said they’re hoping to add an additional event leading up to the February 22nd date, but they’re not ready to announce it just yet.

The funds raised from Pink Shirt Day will support BIGSNBC’s proactive mentoring programs.
