QB Tom Brady announced today (Wednesday) that he is retiring “for good” from football, ending a 23-year NFL career, which included seven Super Bowl titles.
The 45-year-old Brady stated on social media that he “wouldn’t change a thing” about his career.

Sean Payton is headed to Denver to become the Broncos’ 19th head coach in franchise history.
To make it happen, the Broncos dealt a first-round draft pick this year and a second-round pick next year to the New Orleans Saints for Payton and a third-round selection.

The Philadelphia Eagles are slight favorites (by 1.5 points) to win the Super Bowl over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The game will be played on Sunday, Feb 12th (3:30 PM) in Glendale, Arizona.

WHL:
The (19-21-4) Prince George Cougars continue a 5-game homestand Friday and Saturday against the Victoria Royals.
The Royals lost Tuesday night 6-3 to the Prince Albert Raiders.
Prince George is tied with Vancouver for 2nd in the B.C. Division and 6th in the Western Conference, five points behind Everett and nine back of 4th place Tri-City.
The Cougars are nine points ahead of the Royals, who are tied with the Kelowna Rockets for the last playoff spot.

Forward Scott Cousins of Prince George has rejoined the Kelowna Rockets after playing 24 games this season with the PG Spruce Kings.
The Rockets announced today that they have called up Scott Cousins to join the team as an affiliate player for this weekend.

BCHL:
The Prince George Spruce Kings hit the road for three games in as many days.
The (20-14-2-1) Spruce Kings will play at Cranbrook Friday, Trail Saturday, and Salmon Arm on Sunday.
Their next home games will be Feb 10th and 11th against Merritt.

Canada West Basketball:
The UNBC Timberwolves host the Thompson Wolfpack Friday night at 5:00 and 7:00 and Saturday at 4:00 and 6:00 in Canada West basketball.
The Timberwolves complete their regular season on Feb 10th and 11th at Brandon.
UNBC is 6-10 and in 12th place out of 17 teams in both the men’s and women’s divisions with just four games left.
The top 12 qualify for the playoffs starting Feb 17th.

BC Elite Hockey League: (BCEHL)
(U18 male)
The (11-14-1) Under-18 Cariboo Cougars host the (14-9-3-2) Vancouver North East Chiefs Friday morning at 11:30 and Saturday morning at 9:00 at Kin 1.
Cariboo is 7th and Vancouver NE is 4th in the 9-team division.
(U18 female)
The (9-16-3) Under-18 female Northern Capitals visit the (3-23-2) Greater Vancouver Comets Saturday afternoon at 3:30 and Sunday morning at 10:30 in Burnaby.
The Caps are 4th and the Comets last in the 5-team division.
