Updated: Mail delivery suspended in Prince George for second consecutive day

Updated 11:39 a.m., Thursday, February 2nd:

Canada Post has suspended delivery in Prince George for a second consecutive day.

The according to a Canada Post spokesperson, this is due to large accumulations of snow and unclear streets.

They added, “there was a delivery attempt under the yellow delivery service alert, but due to conditions, we’ve had to re-issue the red delivery service alert in Prince George.”

Canada Post said the safety of their employees remains their number one priority.

Canada Post is warning Prince George residents that there could be delays to mail deliveries today due to the snowstorm.

A yellow service alert has been posted, which Canada Post said means “we are going to do our best to deliver, but there may be delays.”

This follow’s yesterday’s (Wednesday) complete halt in mail delivery.

To help mail carriers, Canada Post is asking people to keep their driveways and walkways shoveled and ice-free.

Environment Canada has lifted their winter storm warning on Prince George.
