Spruce Kings drop second in a row on weekend road trip

The Prince George Spruce Kings struck early but the Trail Smoke Eaters struck often in a 6-3 Smoke Eaters win.

Ty Gagno opened up the scoring for the Spruce Kings in front of 1,657 fans at the Cominco Arena in Trail.

The Smoke Eaters took exception to that, answering back with five goals of their own.

Kilian McGregor-Bennett and Amran Bhabra cut the Smoke Eater’s lead down to two, but it was too little, too late for the Spruce Kings.

Brady Hunter added another tally for Trail to cap off the win.

The full box score can be found here.

The Spruce Kings (20-16-2-1) sit fifth in the BCHL’s Interior Division, trailing the fourth-place Salmon Arm Silverbacks (19-14-4-1).
