Just after 9 am on Monday, crews attended a small kitchen blaze that was caused by a break in the stove gas light on the 24-hundred block of Panorama Place.

The fire was extinguished with minimal damage to the home and no injuries were reported.

Damage is estimated at $1500 and the cause is considered accidental.

About five hours later, local firefighters then put out another structure blaze at the 24-hundred block of Oak Street.

Once inside, crews extinguished a mattress that was set ablaze.

One person was assessed for smoke inhalation by paramedics and was later released.

Damage is estimated at $15,000 and this blaze was also deemed accidental in nature.
