Prince George’s Jared Young named to team Canada World Baseball Classic roster

Prince George will be represented on the world stage in March’s World Baseball Classic.

27-year-old Jared Young, who became Prince George’s first-ever product to crack an MLB roster with the Chicago Cubs late last season, will be wearing the maple leaf in under a month.

This will be Young’s first time competing at the international level.

Canada will compete in Phoenix as part of Pool C in the First Round along with Colombia, Great Britain, Mexico, and the United States.

The Canadian team will play Great Britain on March 12th, the USA on the 13th, Colombia on the 14th, and Mexico on the 15th.

The top two teams from each pool will advance in the tournament.
