WHL: 

Kamloops Blazers  5  Prince George Cougars  4

Matthew Seminoff scored the game-winning goal for the Blazers with just 7.2 seconds left in the third period.

While the Cougars’ winning streak ended at five, the hot streak for Ondrej Becher continued, as the Czechian forward scored two goals and added an assist.

The Cougars (24-22-4-0) sit sixth in the WHL’s Western Conference, four points back of the Tri-City Americans (25-19-4-2) and the Everett Silvertips (27-22-2-0).

The Cougars will return home to start a three-game homestand, starting with the Saskatoon Blades (34-13-3-1) on Tuesday. (7:00 p.m.)

BCHL:

Prince George Spruce Kings  10  Merritt Centennials  4

Ty Gagno and Jack Stockfish each notched two goals and two assists each.

Linden Makow also scored a pair of goals.

The Spruce Kings (22-16-3-1) sit fourth in the BCHL’s Interior Division, and are tied in points with the third place West Kelowna Warriors. (22-15-4-0)

The Spruce Kings will be on the road next weekend for a pair of games against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. (21-15-4-1)

48 building permits issued in September

The City of Prince George had a strong September for building permit values.According to a report being presented to City Council at tomorrow's (Monday) meeting, the City issued 48 building permits last month, worth a combined $8.9 million. 

BMI Group acquires former Mackenzie Paper Mill

The BMI Group has acquired the former Mackenzie Paper Mill. The 885-acre property, which includes about 345,000 square feet of industrial buildings and direct rail access, will be re-established as Willmarck Mackenzie.

Spruce Kings come out on top in high scoring tilt with Clippers

967 fans at Kopar Memorial Arena were treated to a high-scoring affair last night (Saturday) as the Prince George Spruce Kings picked up a 7-5 win over the Nanaimo Clippers. 

Cougars score six in third period to stun Tri-City

The Prince George Cougars scored in bunches in a 9-3 win over the Tri-City Americans last night. (Saturday)The Cougars opened the game with a quick burst of three goals in the first six minutes of the game.
