Nemethy, Austin solo winners for 36th PG Iceman

 

Rain, snow, or shine, or why not all three?

That’s what the athletes in yesterday’s PG Iceman had to deal with during their grueling competition.

The event started out with an eight-kilometre ski at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club and continued with a 10-kilometre run, a five-kilometre run, and an 800-metre swim.

The five-kilometre skate was cancelled due to warm weather.

Alex Nemethy was the winner of the Solo Male Race with a time of 1:40:17.2.

There were 22 competitors in the men’s race, one did not finish and one was disqualified.

Breanne Austin won the Solo Female race with a time of 2:05:18.4.

There were 10 competitors in the women’s race.

The Icehawks, consisting of  Morgon Bennison, Damien Georgyev, Chris Pendray, Jocelyn Poirer-Hardy, and Morgan Weddell won the Adult Relay with a time of 1:33:07.0.

57 adult teams competed.

In the youth relay, the Snow Angels, consisting of Leander Ebbott, Seth Teichrob, Brody Black, Camerone Johnson, and Josh Wu had the best time at 1:28:10.

12 youth relay teams competed.
