You might want to bring back those heavy winter jackets stored in your closet because it’s about to get chilly in PG.
The city’s version of the February freeze is expected to arrive after the Family Day long weekend with overnight lows dipping well-below seasonal.
Environment Canada Meteorologist, Bobby Sekohn told MyPGNow.com the short-lived arctic front will certainly make its mark.
“You are going to see that cool down into the mid-week period. Wednesday through Friday are probably going to be the coldest days of the week with temperatures overnight dropping down to as low as -25 even -30 is possible.”
For the Family Day long weekend, temperatures are expected to hover around the freezing with snow and sun in the forecast.
“Most of the snowfall, the heavier snowfall, will be more towards the mountains. I am thinking closer to the Pine Pass and into the North Cariboo and Northern Rockies but we will get some snow in the Prince George area but we are not expecting anything major.”
“We are going to see temperatures that are average or near average and we are going to see some precipitation come through with a couple of disturbances moving through.”
Sunday is anticipated to be the warmest day with a high of plus four and rain showers.
