Spruce Kings fall to Silverbacks in overtime in weekend’s first BCHL Road Show matchup

The Prince George Spruce Kings forced overtime, but ultimately couldn’t get the job done in a 2-1 loss to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Last night’s (Saturday) matchup was the first of two in the BCHL’s Road Show series.

640 fans packed into the Tom Forsyth Memorial Arena in Burns Lake for the game.

Tristan Allen opened the scoring for the Silverbacks on the powerplay, and they held the 1-0 lead for most of the game.

Just past the halfway point of the third, Luca Primerano potted a rebound behind the Silverbacks netminder to tie the game and force overtime.

However CJ Foley needed just 33 seconds in the extra frame to seal the Silverbacks win.
