Two awards were given out at an event at the library last night. (Sunday)

The first was the Service Award, which was bestowed to Elder Edie Frederick and Jennifer Annais Pighin.

The Service Award was established in 1985 to recognize outstanding contributions by an individual or group in the area of local history.

Liz Bryan was given the Publication Award for Adventure Roads of BC’s Northwest Hartland.

It was one of seven publications shortlisted and showcased for the award.

The Publication Award was added in 1993 so authors could be recognized for producing an important new work of local history.
