Exploration Place debuting brand new, light-based exhibit today

At 9:00 this morning (Saturday), Exploration Place’s newest exhibit opened its doors.

LUMEN is all about light, answering the question: what is it? Where does it come from? How is it used?

“It is a really cool exhibit,” said CEO Tracy Calogheros, adding it includes lasers, shadows, prisms, and a theatre.

Initially, she thought the exhibit would be geared toward kids – until she saw her staff exploring and having fun with it the night it was completed.

“I had grown men in there, in their 40s… it was very entertaining.”

This is Exploration Place’s third special feature exhibit since completing its massive renovation in October.
