Happy 108th birthday Prince George!
The City was originally incorporated on March 6th, 1915.
According to the city, Prince George’s origins can be traced back to a fur trading post founded in 1807 on traditional Lheidli T’enneh territory by Simon Fraser.
An agricultural settlement around the trading post called Fort George started in the early 1900s, when the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway (later CN Rail) entered the region.
The railway arrived in 1914, and the town was incorporated a year later.
It’s our 108th birthday – who’s bringing the cake?! 🎉 🍰
