A two-month suspension has been handed down to a Prince George nurse for a series of practice issues that were brought to light by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
Last week, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a consent agreement between the college and Robert Harris.
It found the violations that occurred between July and November of last year, included inadequate documentation, unsafe medication and blood product administration as well as communication of patient detail and professional accountability.
In a release, it found Harris administered an IV medication and blood product on two separate occasions when not allowed to do so without supervision.
In addition to the suspension, Harris also agreed to a 24-month limit prohibiting them from practicing in high-acuity, stepdown, or critical care environments, a 12-month probation on being the sole RN on duty, being in charge, and providing regulatory oversight to new nurses as well as a six-month probation on assuming in-charge duties.
