Council to consider manufactured home park on Twinberry Drive

Prince George City Council is looking at more housing in the Hart.

At Wednesday’s regular council meeting, council will consider Third Reading of a rezoning bylaw that would rezone approximately 11.5 ha portion of 9153 Twinberry Drive.

The applicant (L&M Engineering Ltd. for Westcan Property Ltd.) has applied to rezone the subject area to be zoned for a Manufactured Home Park.

The area is currently zoned for Single Residential, Multiple Residential, Greenbelt, and Agriculture and Forestry.

In a slideshow presentation, the applicant is proposing a mix of 3-bed, 2-bath homes, as well as 2-bed, 2-bath homes.

The City of Prince George has received several letters from residents in the area against the application citing concerns such as traffic congestion, declining property values, and school and school bus capacity.

There were also a few letters of support from area residents saying it would be good for first time home buyers and people who want to downsize.

Other items to be discussed at Wednesday’s meeting include proposed amendments to the Parks and Open Spaces Bylaw, and access to veterinary care.

The full agenda can be found here.
