WHL:

Kamloops Blazers  10 Portland Winterhawks  4

The Blazers swept the series 4-0 to advance to the Western Conference Final against the Seattle Thunderbirds which will begin on Saturday, April 29th in Kent, Washington.

Both Kamloops and Seattle are 8-0 in the playoffs.

The Prince George Cougars season ended Wednesday night when they lost to Seattle 8-2 before 4,024 fans at CN Centre.

The Thunderbirds swept the second-round series 4-0, outscoring the Cougars by a combined score of 25-5.

The (11-8) Toronto Blue Jays are 1-2 on a six-game road trip that continues tonight (4:05 PT) against the (12-7) Yankees in New York.

The Toronto Raptors today (Friday) fired head coach Nick Nurse.

The Raptors finished 9th in the Eastern Conference before losing a play-in game to the Chicago Bulls.

–There are three NBA playoff games tonight: Denver at Minnesota, Cleveland at NY Knicks (5:30) and Boston at Atlanta (4:00). The Nuggets lead the Timberwolves 2-0, the Cavaliers and Knicks are tied 1-1 and the Celtics enjoy a 2-0 lead over the Hawks.
