IIHF U18 World Hockey Championship: (in Switzerland)
Riley Heidt of the Prince George Cougars has joined Team Canada at the tournament.
Heidt, who turned 18 last month, played his first game on Sunday in a 4-3 victory over Slovakia.
“When I found out I had the opportunity to come here, I jumped at the chance. It has been a crazy 24 hours, but I’m here, getting settled and it’s been great. I’ve known many of the guys for a while now, but there are a few new faces and it’s been fun; everyone has been really welcoming,” said Heidt in an interview with TSN.
Canada has a 2-1 record (an 8-0 loss to Sweden on Thursday was followed by a 7-0 victory over Germany on Friday) with its next game against Czechia on Tuesday (9:30 am PT).

The PG Cougars have signed 16-year-old goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen to a player agreement.
The North Vancouver product led the BC Elite Hockey League with 15 wins for the U-18 Vancouver North West Hawks.

Saskatoon Blades 5 Red Deer Rebels 3
The series is tied 3-3. Saskatoon is trying to become just the third team in WHL history to overcome a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven series to win it 4-3. The 7th and deciding game will be played Tuesday in Saskatoon.
In the WHL tonight (Monday): Winnipeg at Moose Jaw with the Ice ahead of the Warriors 3-2.
The Western Conference Final will open in Kent, Washington with the first two games on Saturday and Sunday.
Both the Kamloops Blazers and the Seattle Thunderbirds are 8-0 in the playoffs.
