BC Wildfire Service conducting burns for training near Prince George

The BC Wildfire Service will be conducting burns at the Prince George Tree Improvement Station. (PGTIS)

These burns are part of new recruit training, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow and continue intermittently until May 19th.

There will be approximately 150 recruits training during this time.

These burns will only take place if conditions are suitable, and staff from the BC Wildfire Service will carefully prepare, monitor and control these fires.

While the burns are taking place at the PGTIS site, smoke may be visible southeast of College Heights and the surrounding area, and south of Prince George.
