Prince George hosting a variety of events this weekend

From garage and book sales to shredding papers to the city’s cleanups, Prince George has lots of options that one can participate in this weekend (April 28-30).

The list includes:

Junk in the Trunk Sale

The largest garage sale in Northern BC, Junk in the Trunk will have 125 vendors, tire recycling, and a bike swap in the CN Centre parking lot.

It will run from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday.

Northern BC Crime Stoppers Shred-It Event:

Crime Stoppers will run their annual drive-through Shred-it event on Saturday from 10:00 – 2:00 at PGSS.

They will allow residents to shred personal documents by donation (minimum suggested donation of $10) – and is not meant for business owners.

Mr Mikes will also be on location, selling burgers for $5.

Library Book Sale

The library will be welcoming everybody to a book sale on Saturday from 10:00 until 2:30 at their downtown branch.

Since starting these sales in 1990, the library has raised over $440,000.

A members-only sale will also be taking place this afternoon (Friday) from 3:00-6:00.

City-wide spring clean-up

Volunteers across the city will be helping clean up parks and public spaces on Sunday after another long winter.

Gloves and bags for registered volunteers can still be picked up at City Hall today.

Moccasin Flats Spring clean

Separate from the city-wide clean-up, a group of volunteers will be getting together at the flats at 10:00 on Saturday morning.

There will be a fire and hotdog roast after the clean wraps up, organizers guess around 2:00.

It will be a large-scale clean, volunteers are asked to bring gloves, bags, rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows.
