Two Rivers Art Gallery name new Executive Director

Two Rivers Art Gallery has promoted from within, naming George Harris as the new Executive Director.

Harris has served as the Curator at the gallery since 2001, prior to which he was the Director and Curator at the Yukon Arts Centre Gallery and the Prince George Art Gallery when Two Rivers was in its infancy.

“I am thrilled to be able to continue working with Two Rivers Gallery, albeit in a new role, on the traditional unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh. It has been such a pleasure to work with so many artists and members of our community over the years. Through art we can see the world differently, understand unfamiliar perspectives and the challenges of our time more deeply and effect positive change,” Harris said.

“As I shift to this new role, I reflect on the extraordinary team of people with whom I am fortunate to work. I look forward to continuing this journey with the staff and the Board of Directors of Two Rivers Gallery.”

Harris won the BC Museums Association’s Distinguished Service Award in 2016, and he holds a BA from the University of Victoria and an MA from the University of East Anglia.
