PG Serious Crime Unit investigating violent assault

The RCMP was called to an apartment on the 1600 block of Ingledew Street in Prince George at 6:00 this morning (Thursday) to attend to an unconscious woman.

“As the investigation progressed, police officers determined the woman was the victim of a violent assault and the Serious Crime Unit was called to take conduct of the investigation,” said Corporal Jenn Cooper.

She adds they are asking for anyone with possible video surveillance or dash camera footage from that area between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. today to contact police.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police will remain on Ingledew Street for several hours continuing their investigation.
