TNG frustrated with judicial review of mine

A Tsilhqot’in First Nations leader is expressing frustration at the length of time its taking for a ruling on Taseko Mine’s New Prosperity proposal.

Arguments concerning a second application for a judicial review aren’t expected to be heard by a judge until late summer laments Chief Joe Alphonse.

Alphonse says legal fees will likely cost them a minimum of $60,000.

Meanwhile a decision on the judicial review isn’t expected until sometime next year.

The federal government rejected the mine for the second time earlier this year.
