Cougars pick two in US Priority Draft, will pick 15th in Prospects Draft

The Prince George Cougars are looking to the future with two drafts this week.

Tomorrow, the Cougars will pick 15th overall in the 2023 WHL Prospects draft.

Today, the Cats picked two players in the 2023 US Priority Draft.

With the 15th pick, the Cougars selected Cottage Grove, Minnesota product Phoenix Cahill.

Cahill, a 6’1″, 14-year-old defenceman, played ten games in the Minnesota Bantam Elite League this past season, notching seven assists in those games.

With the 37th pick, the Cougars drafted Los Angeles, California product Broden Scissors.

In 52 games with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 14U AAA, the 5’11” forward scored 16 goals and added ten assists.
