This week is Emergency Preparedness Week in Canada.
The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has compiled a list of tips for people in the area to better prepare themselves in case of an emergency.
These include:
- Reviewing your insurance coverages
- Make sure your house number is easily visible to first responders
- Prepare an emergency kit that can sustain you and your family for 72 hours
- Being fire smart
The Regional District also offers a public alert system for residents in their electoral areas and rural communities. You can sign up here.
