NHL: (4th game in the best-of-7 Eastern Conference Final)

Florida Panthers  4  Carolina Hurricanes  3

Matthew Tkachuk scored twice, including the game-winner on a power-play with just 4.9 seconds left in regulation time.

It was his third game-winning goal of the series as the Panthers completed a 4-game sweep to advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in 27 years.

Tkachuk has a team-leading nine goals and 21 points in 16 playoff games.

Florida has won 11 of its last 12 games.

The NHL Western Conference Final resumes tonight (Thursday at 5:00) in Dallas with the Vegas Golden Knights enjoying a 3-0 lead over the Stars.

World Hockey:

Canada is up against host and defending champion Finland in the quarterfinals today (Thursday 10:20 am PT) at the men’s world hockey championship.

The Canadian team finished second in Group B with a 4-1-1-1 record while Finland was in
third place in Group A at 5-0-1-1.

CHL:

The host Kamloops Blazers will play the Quebec Remparts Friday night at 6:00 in the first game of the Memorial Cup.

The Seattle Thunderbirds open up on Saturday against the Peterborough Petes.

The series winner will face the Western Conference champion Denver Nuggets in the league final starting on Thursday, June 1st.
