Two more walks scheduled in PG this weekend

Another event-filled weekend is on tap for Prince George.

It will be highlighted by two more walks.

First, roughly 200 people are expected to attend the second annual Moccasin Walk hosted by the Lheidl T’enneh Nation.

The 10-kilometer event is set for tomorrow (Saturday) starting at 10:30 am at the Northside reserve – prior to launching the event, several members of the host nation would go to Vancouver for the Sun Run.

All proceeds will support the Lheidli T’enneh Elders Society.

In addition, the Kidney Walk will be held in many cities in B.C. and around the country on Sunday.

Locally, the 2.5 km event starts at 11 AM from Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park.

The fundraiser is to support the Kidney Foundation’s research and patient support programs.

Organizers are hoping to raise $20,000.
