A Public Alerting System utilized by the City of Prince George and the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will be tested later this month.
It will occur on June 12 at 9 a.m.
According to a release, when emergencies like severe weather, floods, or wildfires happen, all registered contacts in that area will receive texts, voice calls or emails with public safety notifications and evacuation alerts and orders.
Those who have subscribed to the system will receive a text message.
The alerting system is free for all residents in both areas.
Do you know what to do during an emergency event? We’re testing our emergency alert system, in partnership with @RDFFG, on June 12 at 9 am.
