Northern BC gamblers eyeing 80 million in prize money for tonight’s Lotto Max draw

Another sizeable jackpot is up for grabs for northern gamblers.

A combined 80 million dollars is on the line when it comes to tonight’s Lotto Max draw (Friday) which includes ten max million prizes.

BCLC Spokesperson, Shelley Wong anticipates some increased sales due to the size of the jackpot.

“Anytime there is such a large jackpot, especially when it reaches the 70-million mark and after 50 with the max millions. I definitely see some increased excitement from our players up until the draw time.”

As for what could happen if the prize goes unclaimed, Wong broke down how the prize money would then be increased heading into Tuesday’s draw.

“For instance, if the 70 million isn’t won, we are estimating for the next draw on Tuesday, there is going to be an estimated 17 max million prizes, give or take on or two million.”

Lottery players in general have been on a bit of a cool streak lately. Nobody claimed the Gold Ball Prize (34 million) or the BC/49 (2 million) draws on Wednesday.

The deadline to purchase your ticket is 7:30 pm.
