Support for Site C increasing as province gives green light

BC Hydro is noticing there is growing support for its proposed Site C project.

This comes as the province has given the green light for construction to begin.

A new poll commissioned by Hydro shows that 81 percent of the province is in favour of the hydroelectric dam.

Spokesperson Simi Heer says they are more pleased that awareness for Site C has increased.

“About three-quarters of those surveyed are now aware of the project,” says Hari, “and that is compared to 62% last year.”

Hari says construction for Site C is expected to begin this summer.
