Intersection of Foothills and 18th closed for construction until September

Work on a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Foothills Boulevard and 18th Avenue is set to begin today (Monday).

Construction on the $1.6 million dollar project will close Foothills south of Glen Shee Road, 18th Avenue west of the soccer fields, and the Ginter’s Meadow parking lot.

Pedestrian access to Ginter’s will remain open, trail users are being asked to park on the south end of the park or at a nearby lot.

Transit service will also be suspended “for stops along 18th Avenue between Ospika Boulevard and Foothills Boulevard and along Foothills Boulevard between 18th Avenue and 15th Avenue,” according to the city.

The city said the project is set to be completed in September.
