Not quite how Canada Day event organizers drew it up.
According to Environment Canada Meteorologist Derek Lee, there is one rainy day coming up in Prince George in what should otherwise be a warm and sunny few weeks.
That day is tomorrow, Canada Day.
“The temperature is momentarily dropping to a high of 15,” Lee told My PG Now. “Once we get through tomorrow, which is a day probably full of cloudy conditions, showers, and a risk of thunderstorms, Sunday will have a ridge of high pressure building back into the area.”
The high-pressure ridge will bring with it the sun and the heat, temperatures are expected to climb to the mid to high 20’s by Tuesday and Wednesday, which Lee said is six to seven degrees above average for this time of year.
Looking forward to the rest of the month, Lee said he thinks warmer than average temperatures will continue.
“For precipitation, with little confidence I can say it is leaning towards a dryer July in Prince George,” he added.
