Major League Baseball:
Jared Young of Prince George went 0-for-1 with a run scored in the Chicago Cubs’ 7-6 victory in 11 innings over the Milwaukee Brewers Tuesday afternoon.
Young came into the game as a pinch runner and then played first base.
In seven regular-season games with Chicago this year, the 27-year-old Young is 4-for-18 at the plate for a .222 batting average with one homer and four RBIs.
The (39-45) Cubs visit the (46-40) Brewers again tonight (Wednesday 5:10 PT).

The Prince George Cougars did not take a player in the 2023 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft today (Wednesday).
The Cougars had the 45th overall pick in the Draft but decided to pass.

He is leaving the Cougars after two seasons after accepting the job as Head Coach of the

Hockey Canada has a new president and chief executive officer.
Katherine Henderson, who has spent the last seven years at the helm of Curling Canada, has been appointed to the job by the new board of directors.
Hockey Canada has had a scandal-plagued year over its handling of sexual assault allegations and payouts.
The entire board and the CEO resigned in October after private sponsors and federal funding was cut off.

Canadians Milos Raonic and Denis Shapovalov both won their first-round match in four sets at Wimbledon.
Earlier, Canadian Leylah Fernandez won her first-round match in three sets while another Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime suffered an upset loss in four sets against American Michael Mmoh.

Soccer:
Canada is advancing to the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals.
Canada defeated Cuba 4-2 in its group stage finale Tuesday.
The victory means Canada will face Group A winner U.S. in the tournament quarterfinals on Sunday.
CFL:
A short week of practice for the (3-1) B.C. Lions as they host the (2-1) Montreal Alouettes Sunday afternoon at 4:00.
The Lions are coming off Monday’s 45-24 loss to the (3-0) Toronto Argonauts.
Week 5 of the CFL season starts Thursday night (6:00 PT) with (0-4) Edmonton at (2-1) Saskatchewan.
