CFL:

The (0-5) Edmonton Elks will try to snap a league-record 19-game home losing streak when they entertain the (1-3) Hamilton Tiger-Cats tonight (Thursday 6:00 PT) to kick off week six of the CFL season.

The BC Lions have the bye this week and will return to action on Saturday, July 22nd when they host the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The (4-1) Lions are tied with Winnipeg for the top spot in the West Division, just ahead of (3-1) Saskatchewan.

Major League Baseball:

The (50-41) Toronto Blue Jays resume action on Friday (4:07 PM PT) when they host the (52-39) Arizona Diamondbacks to begin a 6-game homestand.

The Jays are 3rd in the A.L. East and also tied with Houston for the second A.L. wild-card spot, a game ahead of the NY Yankees and two in front of the Boston Red Sox.

The (42-47) Chicago Cubs host the (48-43) Boston Red Sox Friday night (5:05 PT).

First baseman Jared Young of Prince George has now played 10 games with Chicago since his call-up from the Iowa Cubs.

Young, who just turned 28, is batting .200 (6-for-30) in a Chicago uniform with one homer and five RBIs.

Hockey:

The Prince George Spruce Kings will play five pre-season games all on the road.

They will start September 8th in Chilliwack against the Chiefs and conclude September 16th in Trail against Powell River.
