Workers at Canfor’s Northwood Pulp Mill will be headed back to work as the BC port strike has come to an end.
The company announced today (Thursday) the mill will resume production next week. (Week of July 17th)
On Tuesday, Canfor announced a temporary curtailment at the Mill, saying there was limited storage for pulp products that could not be transported overseas as a result of the labour dispute.
The mill employs around 475 people.
The curtailment went into effect today.
A tentative contract agreement was reached between the BC Maritime Employers Association and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union earlier today. (Thursday)
